Book 15 – The Secret History by Donna Tartt

Not really sure what to make of this one, which is a bit like Brideshead Revisited meets Dead Poets Society with a dash of The History Boys. Except that it’s not really like any of those and none of the characters are particularly likeable. The narrative plot is about what happens when a bunch of impressionable and nervy students have too much money and lots of spare time, and are living in a complete moral vacuum. But I found it all very disconnected and nobody lives happily ever after.  I couldn’t work out what I was supposed to learn from reading this novel and it was ultimately unsatisfying.
